Trouble in Paradise

Dad
7/16
Today was quite a day.  I am writing at 11pm from the Indian Campground in Buffalo, WY.  The day began innocently enough.  We left the Badlands first thing in the morning and headed southwest through the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation to the Wounded Knee Memorial.  Sad souls there, a  very moving place, but met a nice native kid by the name of Bluebird who clearly knew an easy mark when he saw one.  He told us the story of Wounded Knee and of himself then fleeced us out of 20 bucks for the privilegeJ.   Then on to Custer State Park for more buffalo and this is where the troubles began.  Remember when Paul mentioned he swallowed the bacteria water?  Well, the bacteria water wanted back out.  He first began to feel poorly upon entering the park but was able to keep everything in and down until our first view of Mount Rushmore from the Iron Mountain Road.  Paul threw up alongside the road (at least it was scenic).  He then had a couple of near misses then threw up again at the Crazy Horse Monument.  Carol, however, did not want to miss out on the fun.  She began to feel symptomatic shortly after Crazy Horse and proceeded to get sick many times along the road to Buffalo.  Aside from the current dysentery, the trip has been great.  The weather could not be lovelier, the Badlands were awesome from a geologic and wildlife perspective and we are on the cusp of the Rocky Mountains and after three nights of camping and one night of driving through the night, we get to stay at a hotel in Bozeman.
